GE Americom provides Satellite News Gathering (SNG) services and technology to such broadcast customers as ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN. We offer a variety of SNG solutions, including 24-hour video booking and satellite access services. Service is provided via GStar 4 and GE-5 for North America and via GE-1E for Europe.

Our SNG service provides two basic paths. One path provides a video capability from antennas on SNG vehicles directly back to the affiliate TV station or network. The second path provides up to four channels for voice communication from the vehicle back to the hub-and directly to the public telephone network. Occasional Video

GE Americom offers occasional full- and partial-transponder services for organizations that need to distribute programming to national or regional audiences. Examples of occasional use include coverage of news, sports and special events, many of which occur remote from permanent uplink facilities. ?

Private companies often contract with us for occasional video services to announce new products, to train employees gathered at conference facilities in widespread regions and for other uses.
