We design systems to meet virtually any business need, including video teleconferencing, and private business data networks. Single Channel Per Carrier (SCPC) Services
In an SCPC system, transmissions are sent to the satellite continuously on a single satellite carrier. The satellite signal is received at a single location, in the case of a point-to-point system, or at many locations in a broadcast system, providing hub-less connectivity among multiple sites. The space segment is dedicated full time to the customer and must be purchased for anywhere from 1 to 5 years of use. Features of this service include both transponder protection and outage credits.

Full Transponder Services
The transponder is dedicated full time to the customer and must be purchased for anywhere from 1 to 5 years of use. This service is available in 3 versions:

Fully protected -- in the event of the failure of your transponder service will automatically be switched to another transponder on the same satellite if a transponder is available or to a transponder on another satellite if a transponder is not available

Transponder protected -- in the event of the failure of your transponder service will automatically be switched to another transponder on the same satellite   

Pre-emptible -- your service will be pre-empted for another customer only in the event of a failure

Bandwidth On-Demand Service
A fractional transponder service that allows customers to obtain extra space segment capacity in near real time mode. It enables prescreened and pre-approved customers to book two-way C-band or Ku-band space segments. The space segment may be anywhere from 500K to a full transponder in size and it must be booked for a minimum 4 hour session.

Installation and Maintenance Service
An add-on feature to AMERICOM's SCPC and Full Transponder Services. it allows customers to contract just the amount of professional support they need to gain full value from their space segment. Customers can opt for network design assistence and / or installation support and / or maintenance support and / or CPE purchase assistance.

Virtual Network Services (VNS)
For those customers wanting to establish a two way satellite based network but who don't have full time bandwidth needs, SES AMERICOM offers a suite of virtual network services. This suite of services is based on state-of-the art technology resident in our Woodbine Earth Station in Maryland, which enables customers to construct a private network using shared network resources. The end result is that customers reap economic benefits by sharing resources with each other while at the same time experiencing high levels of network performance. This service is available in two versions:

Dedicated Network VNS -- Customers purchase a fixed amount of guaranteed aggregate Ku-band bandwidth for their entire network, sharing bandwidth between all of their locations using the service as they see fit. Customers can set minimum and maximum time-of-day transmission rates on an individual location basis. In addition to customer-controlled space segment and network intelligence, base features of this service are high speed access to the Internet and all applicable satellite licenses. Customers can further enhance the value of this service by purchasing the optional Remote Locator feature which covers installation and maintenance of the satellite customer-premises equipment.

Shared Network VNS -- Customers share a common pool of Ku-band bandwidth for their entire network. Instead of purchasing a guaranteed aggregate network transmission rate, customers purchase the right to a maximum burst rate for their aggregate network traffic. In addition to customer-controlled space segment and network intelligence, base features of this service are high speed Internet and alI applicable satellite licenses. Customers can further enhance the value of this service by purchasing the optional Remote Locator feature which covers installation and maintenance of the satellite customer-premises equipment.
