Vernon Valley Earth Station
GE Americom's Vernon Valley earth station is located in northern New Jersey's scenic Vernon Valley. This state-of-the-art facility maintains constant control over the quality of signal transmission and reception for GE Americom's commercial satellite customers. Staffed 24 hours a day by highly skilled technicians, the Technical Operations Center provides continuous service and prompt assistance for our customers. Utilizing six C-band and five Ku-band antennas, Vernon Valley transmits and receives all forms of high quality communications via satellites linking Asia, Europe, the United States, and the Caribbean, on a full-time and occasional-use basis.
Vernon Valley also serves as the Tracking, Telemetry and Command (TT&C) center for GE Americom's satellite fleet. Spacecraft controllers monitor satellite position and status, and send commands to keep the satellite in position and its systems performing normally. Spacecraft analysts study satellite performance and design normal and emergency satellite control routines.
