SATELLITE MOVE INFORMATION

With the recently-launched AMC-16 satellite moving into position at 85° W.L., AMC-9 will be moving to its new orbital location at 83° W.L. in February. No interruption of service is expected at 85° W.L.

Please contact your account representative for detailed information. For reference, here is the summary:

Tuesday, 8 February 2005

  • Ku-band services will be cut over from AMC-9 to AMC-16; they will be co-located at 85° W.L.
  • AMC-9 will begin its drift to 83° W.L.


Sunday, 13 February 2005

  • AMC-9 Ku-band payload ready for commercial service at 83° W.L.
  • Operating at same frequencies but opposite polarization as before at 85° W.L.
