Home2US Brings The Asia Network to America via SES AMERICOM

AMC-4 Satellite Delivers Korean Programming to Korean DTH Audiences Across U.S.

PRINCETON, NJ – September 14, 2004 -- Dedicated to providing an open, satellite distribution platform designed to meet insatiable appetites for news and entertainment programming in any language across the melting pot of America, SES AMERICOM, an SES GLOBAL company (Paris Euronext; Luxembourg and Frankfurt Stock Exchanges: SESG), announced today that Home2US Communications is distributing The Asia Network, TAN-TV, over its AMC-4 satellite to Korean Pay TV audiences throughout the United States.

With SES AMERICOM’s AMC-4 spacecraft, Home2US, a premier open Pay TV platform, is providing four channels of TAN-TV programming, supplied by some of the most popular Korean educational, news, and entertainment networks, to a growing audience of Korean-Americans. TAN-TV features four of Korea’s leading television networks, KBS, YTN, STS, and MBC, which provide a wide range of traditional and modern dramas, mini-series, comedy, children’s programming, and variety shows. While TAN-TV is tailored to a Korean audience, 38 percent of its programming features English subtitles.

“By offering TAN-TV, Home2US is bringing familiar television shows and Korean culture to a very significant population of Korean Americans, who can now get the latest headlines and enjoy the most popular entertainment networks straight from the homeland,” said Carl Capista, vice president of media and entertainment services for SES AMERICOM. “The development of a top tier Asian neighborhood adds value to SES AMERICOM’s AMC-4 satellite, which provides the quality reach Home2US needs to ensure that TAN-TV gets to growing U.S.-based Korean audiences coast to coast.”

“TAN-TV is all about providing the best in international programming, and TAN-TV represents the best Korean-based programming for underserved Korean television audiences throughout the United States,” said Emrah Ozkan, CEO of Home2US Communications, Inc. “Home2US is building its radio and Pay TV platform on SES AMERICOM’s AMC-4 satellite so we can provide our global customers, like TAN-TV, with the worldwide end-to-end distribution solution they must have in order to reach the broadest audience across North America. We look forward to expanding our TAN-TV offerings to an expanding U.S.-based Korean community.”

TAN-TV is a subsidiary of KBFD-TV, which is the only full-time, full-powered Korean language television station in the U.S. KBFD-TV is based in Honolulu, Hawaii. Home2US began distributing TAN-TV programming as a subscription pay TV service on September 1.
