NBC Cable Networks Sign Long-Term Cable Service Agreement with SES AMERICOM

NBC Cable Networks Join HD-PRIMETM -- America’s Cable Neighborhood

Princeton, NJ -- March 3, 2004 -- SES AMERICOM, an SES GLOBAL company (Luxembourg and Frankfurt Stock Exchange: SESG), announced today that NBC has signed a multi-year, multiple transponder agreement for C-band service on SES AMERICOM's HD-PRIMETM cable neighborhood to be located on AMC-10 and AMC-11, the successor satellites to Satcom C-3 and C-4. Scheduled for launch and operation in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of this year, the AMC-10 and AMC-11 transponders will be used for the distribution of most of NBC Cable’s networks -- Bravo, Bravo HD+, CNBC, CNBC World, MSNBC, Telemundo for cable and mun2 -- to viewers across the nation.

"We welcome NBC Cable’s preeminent programming services to our HD-PRIME -- America’s Cable Neighborhood," said Carl Capista, Vice President, Media and Entertainment Services, SES AMERICOM. "NBC’s highly respected array of cable programming, featuring news, film, performing arts and financial reports, including the spectacular Bravo HD channel, provides a wide spectrum of much-appreciated information and entertainment to viewers while enhancing and adding value to the HD-PRIME neighborhood."

"We chose SES AMERICOM for our distribution needs in part because of the excellent cable neighborhood they have assembled on AMC-10 and AMC-11. Over the past 20 years, we have found SES AMERICOM to be responsive to our needs and requirements and feel that with the operation of AMC-10 and AMC-11, NBC’s cable networks will be in the most popular neighborhood," said Henry Ahn, Vice President of Affiliate Sales, NBC Cable Networks.

The just-launched AMC-10 is the first of two state-of-the-art satellites that make up SES AMERICOM’s HD-PRIME neighborhood. AMC-10, an all C-band satellite, will operate from 135 degrees W.L., replacing the Satcom C-4 spacecraft. The second satellite, AMC-11, is scheduled for launch in May and will reside at 131 degrees W.L., replacing Satcom C-3. The two A2100 spacecraft have been optimized for next generation programming services, including high definition channels. Each of the 24 transponders is supported by at least one 20 watt SSPA, delivering an almost 20% increase in power over their predecessors. In addition, a higher level of on-board redundancy plus an in-orbit protection satellite, AMC-7 currently operating at 137 degrees W.L., will protect the cable programming services.

Cable programmers can use AMC-10 and its HD-PRIME partner satellite, AMC-11, to reach over 80 million homes. A diverse mix of programming producers are already scheduled to use the new satellites, including Viacom, A&E Television Networks, C-SPAN, Court TV, Crown Media, Discovery Communications, E! Networks, iN DEMAND, Lifetime Entertainment, NBC, QVC, Scripps Networks, and The Weather Channel. AMC-10 is scheduled for full service operation by early May.
