SES AMERICOM SECURES PRISON TELEVISION NETWORK

PTN Distributes Programming via AMC-4

December 15, 2003 Princeton, NJ SES AMERICOM, an SES GLOBAL company (Luxembourg and Frankfurt Stock Exchange: SESG), announced today that Florida-based Prison Television Network (PTN) has signed a long-term Ku-band capacity agreement for satellite distribution of their network on AMC-4. PTN is a non-profit organization delivering educational, spiritual and entertainment programming to 2.1 million prison inmates across the country.

One facet of PTN’s mission is to provide life skills programming to inmates in order to facilitate their re-entry into society successfully. This educational programming enables inmates to receive their GED, learn workplace skills and take college level courses. Christian Television Network, Faith TV, Worship TV, and Loma Linda Broadcasting provide spiritual programming to PTN’s schedule.

“Prison Television Network's faith-based programming complements our existing religious programming networks on AMC-4," said Carl Capista, Vice President, Media and Entertainment Services, SES AMERICOM. "In addition, educational aspects of PTN's programming provides a public service by helping to reduce recidivism among the inmate population."

“When we initially began our search for satellite capacity, we focused on reach and location. We found AMC-4 to be a natural fit due to the large neighborhood of religious programmers already located there; these same networks supply us with important programming,” said Buddy Winsett, President, Prison Television Network.

AMC-4 is a hybrid C/Ku-band satellite that became fully operational in January 2000 at 101 degrees W.L. AMC-4 carries twenty-four 36 MHz 20-watt C-band transponders, committed to broadcast and cable-oriented services providing fifty state, Canadian, Mexican and Caribbean coverage. In addition, the spacecraft has twenty-four 36 MHz 110-watt Ku-band transponders providing Americas-wide coverage. Each Ku-band transponder is switchable between North America and South America, fully supporting two-way communication throughout the Americas. AMC-4 also has four 72 MHz transponders in the extended Ku-band that are able to support inter-American communications.
