Media Industry leader Joins SES AMERICOM
McGuirk To Lead Domestic Entertainment & Enterprise Business
September 30, 2003 -- Princeton, NJ Dean Olmstead, President and CEO of SES AMERICOM, an SES GLOBAL Company (SESG in Frankfurt and Luxembourg) announced today that Bryan A. McGuirk has been appointed as Senior Vice President of Domestic Satellite Services. In this role McGuirk is responsible for building the company core entertainment and enterprise businesses throughout the U.S.
McGuirk has extensive experience with business and sales issues associated with developing media-based businesses. As the President, Programming and Advertising of California-based OpenTV, he was at the forefront of many interactive programming developments for both advertisers and programmers. Added to that are executive and management responsibilities at TViFusion, a digital cable network development and operations company; NBC Television Network, in both affiliate relations and NBC Asia; and Turner International, launching CNN, TNT and Cartoon Network in Asian markets. McGuirk received his BA in Managerial Economics from Union College in Schenectady, and his MBA from Emory University in Atlanta. He is active in many industry associations including serving as a board member of the Interactive Television Alliance.

The market-facing executives are Brent Bruun, Vice President, Product Management & Lead Generation; Andreas Georghiou, Senior Vice President, International Satellite Services; David Helfgott, President & CEO, AMERICOM Government Services; Bryan McGuirk, Senior Vice President, Domestic Satellite Services; and Kevin Smyth, Senior Vice President, Residential Satellite Services. This team addresses customer requirements with effective distribution and network solutions for broadcasters, programmers, enterprises, government agencies and consumers.
AMERICOM?s technical services leaders are Dany Harel, Vice President, Space Systems and Operations, and Mike Noon, Vice President, Terrestrial Systems and Operations. These two experts have a combined history of more than four decades in the satellite industry; they manage AMERICOM?s fleet of 16 satellites, with five additional spacecraft to be launched before year-end 2004; plus an intricate network of TT&C and transmission facilities stretching from Gibraltar to Hawaii.
