AMERICOM GOVERNMENT SERVICES Awarded
Federal GSA Schedule
Direct offerings include transponder capacity, up/down link and
network engineering support
March 10, 2003 – Washington, DC/Princeton, NJ –– AMERICOM GOVERNMENT SERVICES, Inc. (AGS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SES AMERICOM and a leading provider of fixed satellite services for government agencies and federal contractors, announced today it has been awarded a GSA schedule from the federal government’s General Services Administration.
AGS’ GSA schedule allows federal agencies to efficiently purchase capacity services on select spacecraft and up/down link services. The schedule also includes expert and regulatory support related to AGS satellites, as well as the necessary engineering and consulting services such as network development and project implementation.
“Federal agencies are increasingly in need of high bandwidth transmission of audio, data and video – a demand that can best be addressed by satellite services in most parts of the world. With the GSA schedule in place, AGS can meet the growing needs of our government clients more effectively through a streamlined process,” said David Helfgott, President and CEO of AGS, who noted the company was able to secure its GSA schedule within 45 days. “Being awarded the schedule so quickly is a testimony to AGS’ 30 years of service to the government and our thorough understanding of the government’s needs and procedures.”
One of the primary procurement vehicles for government agencies, GSA schedules provide agencies with a cost-effective and convenient process for securing technology services from companies with proven track records of performance. AGS will continue to evaluate additional opportunities to expand its service offerings on the schedule in order to provide its customers with the best possible solutions and remain a valued asset to agencies seeking satellite technology solutions.
