NSAB Renews Capacity Agreement with SES AMERICOM

Swedish Broadcaster Commits to Capacity for Central & Eastern Europe

January 14, 2003 – Princeton, NJ – SES AMERICOM, an SES GLOBAL company (Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG; Frankfurt Stock Exchange: SDSL) announced a long term agreement with NSAB (Nordic Satellite AB) for a transponder from AMERICOM’s inventory on Sirius-2. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The powerful pan-European Ku-band BSS coverage will be used to distribute video programming to Central and Eastern Europe.

Since the satellite’s launch in 1998, SES AMERICOM has marketed half of the capacity on the Sirius-2 spacecraft operating at 5 degrees East. The high-powered Ku-band satellite was built by Alcatel and is operated by NSAB.

Some of SES AMERICOM’S regional and international customers and services on the satellite include the SiS Racing Channel, Discovery Channel, Turner’s Cartoon Network, Turner Classic Movies, the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, the National Geographic and programming aimed at the hundreds of thousands of Swedish nationals living throughout the continent.

“The partnership between SES AMERICOM and NSAB is stronger today than ever before. We are delighted to support the delivery of the expanding information and entertainment video channels offered to Swedish nationals in Central and Eastern Europe,” said Andreas Georghiou, AMERICOM’s Senior Vice President, Domestic & International Sales & Services.
