Combination of SES and GE Americom Creates the World's Premier Satellite Services Provider
We are pleased to share with you the news that GE Capital and SES have signed an agreement to combine the assets of GE Americom and SES Astra to form a global premier satellite services company. The combined companies add up to a very impressive fleet -- 28 owned and operated satellites, with interests in 13 additional spacecraft through investments and partnerships. GE Capital will be a 25% shareholder in the new global company to be called SES Global.
It is expected that the entity you now know as GE Americom will become an operating company of SES Global and be renamed SES Americom. We are excited for our customers because through this combination Americom will enhance its ability to provide seamless global services in every important market in the world in an efficient manner -- one-stop shopping with excellent customer care. Americom prides itself on the quality of its satellite operation and providing exceptional customer service. We could not have a better partner than SES -- as it runs a terrific technical operation and is equally committed to its customers.
