This Senior Member of the Engineering Staff of AGS provides Engineering support to Sales in preparing proposals for satellite-based communications systems and networks. This employee also supports the Program Management Office and is responsible for detailed service design and documentation, field implementation, and service activation.

 

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years experience in the satellite communications field, with skills in satellite and terrestrial systems design
Ability to perform complex satellite link analyses
Demonstrated in-depth understanding of earth station equipment and commonly used modulation techniques
Ability to operate integration tools and test equipment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with internal and external customers
Organized and able to multi-task
Bachelors degree required

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Perform system design and cost analyses in the development and documentation of integrated satellite-based communication service proposals
Perform site surveys and generate reports for new systems installations
Perform satellite link and tradeoff analyses
Prepare statements of work and request for quotes to obtain vendor pricing
Qualify new vendor equipment for use in new systems design
Generate computer-aided drawings
Utilize RF, digital and analog test equipment
Install communications equipment for new services in both US and foreign locations
Utilize a wide variety of applications software tools specific to terrestrial systems engineering
Prepare and deliver technical presentations to both customers and company management
Travel, both domestically and internationally, as needed
